Pushkar India

Pushkar means "born because of a flower". Hindu mythology tells that God released a swan with a lotus flower on its beak and it released the flower on the ground where Brahma could perform his great work. The place where the flower fell was called Pushkar. In addition to this legend, many more can be found on the origin of this town. Pushkar is located about 14 kilometers from Ajmer and about 135 from Jaipur. It is one of the most important places of pilgrimage for Hindus in India. In fact it is a town with very few inhabitants, but continuously flooded by pilgrims.
