Nong Thale Thailand

Nong Thale is a sub-district of Krabi Province located between Nopparat Thara to the south and Ao Luk to the north. The hinterland of Nong Thale is rural and rather undeveloped, while its coastal area is famous on the tourism map for two beaches - Klong Muang and Tubkaak – and for the myriad of islands and islets lying off its shore. Klong Muang and Tubkaak beaches house a great choice of first-rate hotels from Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra to the Phulay Bay (a Ritz-Carlton Reserve) which offer their guests the promise of a very relaxing vacation in a tranquil and well-preserved natural environment. The fact is that Nong Thale is far from the mass-tourism circuits of southern Thailand: the sub-district covers an area of approximately 60sqkm and is inhabited by only 8,647 people. The main sources of revenue in Nong Thale are agriculture (palm oil, rubber, and fruits) and fishing. Due to the position of the sub-district at the mouth of Phang Nga Bay, an area which hosts large extents of mangrove forest, the waters bordering Nong Thale are very rich in all sorts of fish and crustacean. Seafood lovers can really enjoy themselves here. Besides sunbathing on the beach, the main activities available in Nong Thale are island-hopping (the most famous island that belongs to the sub-district is Koh Hong), sea kayaking in the mangrove forests and, for those who like to challenge themselves, hiking in the rainforest to reach Khao Ngon Nak Viewpoint to enjoy the astonishing panorama over Krabi Province. Please note that it takes at least two and a half hours to reach the highest point.
