It has a scent of freshness in its air, given the untouched beaches, surrounding hills, springs and fisheries. One must visit the Papanasam Beach, Varkala Beach which offers a number of activities including paragliding and parasailing, Kappil Lake and lighthouses in the area. Varkala has a lot of architecture too, to attract tourists such as the Janardhana Swamy Temple, Anjengo Fort, Vishnu temple and Sivagiri Mutt.

About the destination: Located 16 kilometres from Trivandrum, capital of Kerala state, Kovalam is one of South India's most fascinating sun and beach destinations. A small village surrounded by mangroves and coconut gardens consolidated in the 1930s, at which point the English made its beaches a tourist paradise subsequently visited by the hippie community as a stop before its arrival in Sri Lanka. Today, Kovalam is deployed along 17 kilometers of coastline where we find beaches such as Lighthouse Beach (the most iconic, thanks to its famous lighthouse of 35 meters high), Hawah Beach, ideal for watching the activity of local fishermen; or Samuda Beach, further apart. In addition to its insenadas, Kovalam is a melting pot of experiences ranging from a tour of the Karamana River, to art galleries or temples such as Thiruvallam Parasurama, to visiting from the different resorts of the coast.
